The CIDER Fellowship Grant is a financial support initiative exclusively available to students from low- or middle-income countries. The fellowship, which significantly reduces financial barriers by offering a rebate of 60% of the tuition fee, aims to enable deserving candidates to pursue the Master of Science in Infectious Disease Emergencies (MSc IDE) programme, ensuring that the opportunity to gain world-class education is accessible to those who have the potential to make a meaningful impact in their communities.

To be eligible for this fellowship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  1. Citizenship: Applicants must be citizens of a country classified as low- or middle-income by the World Bank.
  2. Academic Qualifications: Applicants should possess a bachelor's degree or its equivalent in a relevant field, such as medicine, public health, microbiology, or epidemiology.
  3. Professional Experience: A minimum of two years of work experience in public health, infectious disease management, or a related area is required.
  4. English Proficiency: Proficiency in English is essential, as the programme is conducted in English. Applicants may need to provide proof of language proficiency through standardised tests like TOEFL or IELTS.
  5. Commitment to Home Country: Applicants must demonstrate a strong commitment to returning to their home country upon completion of the programme to contribute to local health systems and emergency preparedness. A recommendation letter from their organisation is required, affirming the candidate's intent to contribute upon return.
  6. Financial Need: Applicants should provide evidence of financial need, indicating that they would not be able to pursue the programme without the fellowship support.

To be considered for this fellowship grant, candidates must have accepted the offer to enrol in the NUS MSc IDE programme by paying the acceptance fee. In addition, candidates must complete the CIDER Fellowship Grant declaration form and upload it together with the online MSc IDE application.
